This product is a hydraulic wheel cylinder rubber EPDM brake cup seal, manufactured from high-elasticity EPDM material, offering excellent brake fluid resistance, rebound resilience, and high-temperature aging resistance. It is compatible with brake wheel cylinders across multiple vehicle models, supports customization for different OEM numbers, and can also be used as a piston seal or rod seal.

Why Are Brake Cup Seals Mostly Made of EPDM, Not NBR?

Automotive brake systems use synthetic brake fluid (such as DOT 3, DOT 4), which is typically Glycol-based brake fluids or silicone-based, not mineral oil. EPDM offers excellent chemical resistance to Glycol-based brake fluids and has good rebound resilience, making it the dominant material for brake cup seals.

NBR material, while not dissolving immediately in Glycol-based brake fluid, is not resistant to high temperatures and aging, and can easily fail under complex braking conditions—potentially causing brake fluid leakage due to cup seal swelling or cracking.

Purchase & Installation Notes

1. Single/Dual Wheel Packaging for Repair Kits

When purchasing repair kits, note that truck series are typically packaged as single wheel (1 wheel / Axle Side). If the customer needs to repair a complete front axle (left front + right front), the quantity of that SK number on the order must be multiplied by 2.

2. Dust Boot (Boot) Compatibility

When repairing truck brake wheel cylinders, if only the cup seal is replaced without replacing the dust boot, external mud and water can enter. Since EPDM material is highly susceptible to abrasive wear from mud and sand, the new cup seal will quickly leak again. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the dust boot at the same time as the cup seal.
